Abong Emmanuellah Akai

Emmanuella was honored for her remarkable dedication to championing peace and environmental conservation across several counties, including Isiolo, Meru, Laikipia, Samburu, Baringo, Garissa, Wajir, and Marsabit. Her work bridges diverse communities, fostering unity and understanding in regions often affected by conflict and environmental challenges.

She is the driving force behind the annual Peace Ultra Marathon in Isiolo, an event that brings together people from different backgrounds to promote harmony and dialogue. Additionally, she organizes the annual Camel Caravan Walks, a unique cultural and environmental awareness initiative highlighting the importance of water conservation, climate action, and peaceful coexistence.

Through advocacy and community open days, Emmanuella works tirelessly to counter violence and extremism by engaging local leaders, women, and youth in constructive discussions and collaborative solutions. As a peace monitor in Isiolo County, she plays a critical role in identifying and addressing early signs of conflict, helping to prevent escalation and build long-term stability. Her efforts have not only enhanced community resilience but have also inspired many to join the cause for peace and environmental stewardship, leaving a lasting impact across northern Kenya.
