Alexandra Ndolo
Alexandra Ndolo is a left-handed épée fencer of Kenyan and Polish descent who initially represented Germany before switching allegiance to Kenya in 2022. She earned international acclaim with a silver medal at the 2022 World Fencing Championships in Cairo, while competing for Germany.
Passionate about growing fencing in Kenya, Ndolo co-founded the Kenya Fencing Federation in 2019 and has been instrumental in launching fencing schools in Nairobi as well as initiating scholarship programs in South Africa. She made history as the first Kenyan woman to compete at an FIE World Cup, finishing 10th at the Tallinn event in 2022.
At the Africa Fencing Championships, Ndolo clinched gold, securing Kenya’s Olympic qualification and breaking new ground as the nation’s top fencer. She became the sole Kenyan fencer at the 2024 Paris Olympics, advancing to the round of 32—a milestone for the country in the sport.
Despite facing financial constraints—self-funding much of her international training and competition—Ndolo remains driven by a vision to inspire grassroots fencing across Kenya, introducing the sport to children in under-resourced communities like Nairobi’s Huruma.
