Anish Doshi
Anish Doshi is a Kenyan property-development entrepreneur and the second-generation chief executive of Ideal Ceramics Group, a business his father began in 1991 as a small tile importer. At 24, fresh from the University of Manchester with a BSc in Management, Doshi returned to Nairobi to assume day-to-day control. He quickly diversified the company from retail showrooms into full-cycle real-estate development, assembling project finance, design, and construction teams under one roof.
Over the past decade he has delivered more than 1.5 million square feet of commercial, residential, and mixed-use space across Kenya’s coast and capital. Flagship projects include the award-winning City Mall in Nyali, Mombasa, now anchored by Carrefour and Cinemax, and The Junction Heights, a 280-unit mid-market housing estate in Nairobi that sold out off-plan in nine months. Ideal Ceramics has also introduced Kenya’s first porcelain-tile recycling line, using factory offcuts to produce paver blocks and reducing landfill waste by 600 tonnes annually.
Recognised in Business Daily’s Top 40 Under 40 Men list (2023), Doshi is an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and sits on the Kenya Green Building Society’s finance committee. He mentors early-stage founders through the Vijana Capital accelerator and has pledged five percent of profits to fund technical-college scholarships for construction-trade students, underscoring his commitment to sustainable growth and skills transfer in Kenya’s built-environment sector.
