Anthony Kahinga
Anthony Kahinga is the co-founder and chief executive of ElimuTab and its parent company WeFixTech, a Kenyan social-enterprise group that refurbishes electronics, distributes low-cost learning tablets, and trains youth in device repair. He launched WeFixTech in Nairobi’s Githurai estate in 2015 with a single tool kit; today the business operates seven service centers across Kenya and Uganda, having repaired more than 450 000 phones and laptops while diverting 320 metric tons of e-waste from landfills.
In 2019 he spun off ElimuTab, a solar-powered Android tablet pre-loaded with the Competency Based Curriculum and offline STEM labs. More than 120 000 learners in remote schools now study on ElimuTabs supplied through partnerships with county governments, World Vision, and Safaricom Foundation. A 2024 impact study showed math scores rising 18 percent after one year of use.
Kahinga, 32, earned a degree in telecommunications engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University and completed the Stanford Seed Transformation Program in 2023. He cites his Christian faith as the compass for his “tech for stewardship” philosophy, dedicating 10 percent of profits to free coding bootcamps for at-risk youth. Recognized by Forbes Africa “30 Under 30” (2024) and Google’s Circular Economy Accelerator (2025), his next goal is a 500-seat refurb facility powered by rooftop solar.
