Cindy Amaiza

Cindy Amaiza is a dynamic youth leader dedicated to advancing sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) and HIV prevention across Kenya and beyond. With a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Biotechnology from the University of Nairobi and currently pursuing a master’s in public health at AMREF International University, her academic background supports her impactful advocacy work.

As the HER Voice Fund Coordinator at Y+ Global, Cindy oversees fund implementation, ensuring adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) are ethically and meaningfully included in decisions affecting their lives. She manages grant portfolios, amplifies advocacy efforts of HER Voice ambassadors, and coordinates strategic communications with donors and youth networks.

Additionally, as the National Coordinator of Y+ Kenya, Cindy established the national network for young people living with HIV. She led critical interventions—such as exposing the distribution of expired antiretroviral drugs and successfully pressuring the Ministry of Health to respond. She has also represented youth in high-level platforms, including PEPFAR’s Country Operational Plan and the Global Fund Kenya Secretariat—the first and youngest woman to do so.

Cindy’s leadership continues to inspire effective youth-led programming and advocacy. She plays a pivotal role in shaping a future where young people aren’t just beneficiaries but active architects of health systems, policy, and social change.
