Daniel Kamau

Daniel Kamau is a Kenyan real-estate financier who has steered Fusion Capital Limited from a Nairobi investment boutique into a regional powerhouse of private equity and property development. An architect by training with an MBA in Project Finance from the University of Nairobi, he joined Fusion in 2013 to launch its real-estate division after a decade at Athena Properties and Knight Frank. Elevated to Chief Executive Officer in 2017, Kamau now oversees more than USD 200 million in committed capital deployed across Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania.

His deal-making résumé includes Kigali Heights, the 32,000 m² mixed-use landmark that won the Africa Property Award for Best Commercial Development, and Meru Greenwood City Mall, the first Grade-A retail hub in Kenya’s Upper Eastern region. Under his leadership Fusion has broken ground on middle-income housing estates in Nairobi’s Riruta and Kampala’s Lubowa, introduced Shariah-compliant development notes, and exited three projects with average IRRs above 18 percent.

Kamau champions green-building standards, 90 percent of new Fusion projects target EDGE certification, and runs a KES 300 million impact fund that backs student-hostel developers aligned to ESG benchmarks. He chairs the Kenya Property Developers Association’s finance committee, mentors start-ups through the I-BUILD accelerator, and advocates policy reforms to unlock pension-fund investment in affordable housing, positioning Fusion as a catalyst for inclusive urban growth in East Africa.
