Daudi Dabasso Wabera

Wabera was remembered for his unwavering dedication to national cohesion. As one of Kenya’s pioneer indigenous district commissioners, he was committed to fostering peace and unity among diverse communities. This made him a target for those that were pushing for secession of the Northern Frontier District (NFD). He was assassinated in 1965 while serving in Isiolo and his death marked a significant moment in the quest for a united and peaceful nation.
