Dr. Dianah Kamande Wanjiku
Dr. Dianah Kamande was honoured for her outstanding contribution to gender equity and social justice in Kenya. As the founder and Executive Director of the Come Together Widows and Orphans Organization (CTWOO), she has championed the rights and welfare of widows, orphans, and vulnerable families for more than twelve years.
Through her leadership, Dr. Kamande has promoted social inclusion and economic empowerment, enabling women and youth to rebuild their lives with dignity. She has initiated programs that support access to education, healthcare, and legal protection for marginalized communities. Her advocacy has influenced national policies on gender equality, widows’ rights, and the protection of children from exploitation and neglect.
In addition, Dr. Kamande works with national and international partners to raise awareness about domestic violence and gender-based discrimination. Her dedication has inspired collective action among civil society, faith-based organizations, and government agencies to promote justice and equality.
