Edinah K. Nyaboke

Edinah is being recognised for her outstanding commitment to championing peace and advocating for the rights of vulnerable and special groups within the community. Her work has been instrumental in promoting inclusivity, equity, and social justice. Through her leadership in the Gusii Women in Leadership Network, Edinah has spearheaded initiatives that ensure education is accessible to all, regardless of gender, background, or ability.

One of her notable contributions is her strong advocacy for menstrual equity, addressing the stigma surrounding menstruation and working to ensure that girls and women have access to sanitary products. This effort has helped reduce school absenteeism among girls and empowered them to pursue their education with dignity and confidence.

Edinah has also been at the forefront of campaigns against retrogressive cultural practices, such as early marriages and female genital mutilation, which hinder the rights and well-being of women and girls. By engaging local leaders, parents, and youth, she fosters community dialogue that encourages the abandonment of harmful traditions while embracing progressive values.

Her peacebuilding initiatives and unwavering dedication to vulnerable groups continue to inspire change, making her a respected voice in the fight for equality, dignity, and opportunity for all.
