Elvis Malipe Ole Mpakuanik
Elvis Malipe Ole Mpakuanik was honoured for his outstanding contribution to the development and promotion of martial arts in Kenya. As one of the country’s most accomplished martial artists, Elvis has consistently raised Kenya’s profile on the international stage through his impressive performances and unwavering dedication to the sport. Since 2014, he has been the overall winner in all editions of the Mombasa Open Tong-Il Moo-Do International Martial Arts Championships, demonstrating his dominance and excellence in the discipline.
His achievements extend far beyond local competitions. In 2014, Elvis won a gold medal in the men’s 60–65 kg sparring category at the World Tong-Il Moo-Do Peace Cup held in Chiang Mai, Thailand. He continued to shine internationally, earning a bronze medal in the men’s middleweight (70–75 kg) sparring category in 2016, and another bronze in the men’s 70–80 kg sparring event at the 2019 Cheongju World Martial Arts Masterships in South Korea.
Elvis’s dedication to martial arts has made him a role model for young athletes in Kenya. His contribution to the sport has not only brought international recognition to the country but has also played a vital role in nurturing talent and promoting discipline, peace, and unity through martial arts.
