Faith Cherotich

Faith Cherotich is a dynamic steeplechase athlete rapidly ascending the global athletics stage. She burst onto the world scene with a bronze medal at the 2021 World U20 Championships in Nairobi, followed by gold at the 2022 World U20 Championships in Cali—confidently transitioning from promising junior to elite competitor.

In her senior debut, Faith secured bronze at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest and followed with another bronze in her Olympic debut at Paris 2024, clocking a personal best of 8:55.15 in the women’s 3000 m steeplechase.

Her breakthrough continued on the Diamond League circuit—she clinched the overall title in Brussels 2024, notably defeating Olympic champion Winfred Yavi in a compelling tactical performance (9:02.36). In 2025, Faith maintained her dominance with a Diamond League victory in Paris, clocking a personal best of 8:53.37 to top the podium once again.

Known for her quiet determination, she credits Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon as a mentor who inspires her growth both on and off the track. Beyond her medals, Faith’s rise embodies resilience and promise—returning from a near-career-ending car accident in 2023 to earn a world championships medal just weeks later. Her journey continues to inspire budding athletes across Kenya and beyond.
