Faith Mbusi

Faith Mbusi was honoured for her remarkable dedication to human rights advocacy, with a strong focus on the welfare of children and the empowerment of vulnerable communities. Her journey in this field gained momentum during her tenure as a research associate with the World Food Programme (WFP) in 2015/16, where she championed children’s rights by contributing to research and initiatives that addressed food security, nutrition, and the protection of children from hunger and malnutrition.

Her commitment extended to her work with World Vision, where she engaged in research on food and nutrition, using the findings to advocate for basic human rights and community empowerment. Through this work, Faith sought to ensure that all individuals, especially those in marginalized regions, could access adequate food and improved nutrition as a fundamental right.

Currently, Faith is actively involved in advocacy for menstrual health, a cause aimed at breaking stigmas, improving access to menstrual products, and promoting education on menstrual hygiene. Her efforts have helped empower girls and women to lead healthier and more dignified lives. Faith’s work reflects her deep belief in equality, dignity, and the right of every individual to live free from deprivation.
