Ferdinand Omanyala
Ferdinand Omanyala Omurwa is Kenya’s premier sprinter and Africa’s fastest man, renowned for his exceptional speed and resilience. Omanyala transitioned from rugby to athletics in 2015, quickly establishing himself as a formidable 100m and 200m runner. In 2021, he broke the 10-second barrier, setting a national record of 9.77 seconds, making him the ninth-fastest man of all time in the event. His accolades include winning Kenya’s first 100m gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in 60 years and clinching the African 100m title in the same year. Omanyala has also represented Kenya at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and the 2022 World Athletics Championships. Beyond his athletic achievements, he has become a global ambassador for Team Visa, joining over 600 athletes supported by the program.
