Harison Ochieng Yogo
Harison Ochieng Yogo was honored for his exemplary contribution to the efficient and citizen-centered delivery of government services in Kenya. His innovative leadership has significantly transformed public service accessibility, particularly through his flagship initiative, Huduma Mashinani. Implemented in partnership with Mombasa Cement, this groundbreaking outreach program brought essential government services closer to the people, ensuring inclusivity and convenience for residents who previously faced barriers to access. Over a 40-day period, more than 30,000 Mombasa residents benefited from a wide range of free services, including national registration, health care support, social protection programs, and business registration assistance.
The success of this initiative not only improved service delivery but also strengthened public trust in government institutions. As a result of these efforts, Mombasa was ranked as the best-performing Huduma Centre in Kenya for the 2023/2024 period — a testament to Harison’s vision, coordination, and dedication to excellence. His outstanding leadership and community-driven approach have also earned him international recognition, including a nomination for the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders and the Spirit of Detroit Award in July 2025. Through his work, Harison continues to exemplify the transformative power of innovation, collaboration, and public service in improving citizens’ lives.
