Jairus Ongeta
Jairus Ongeta was honoured for his outstanding achievements as a person with disability (PWD) in international athletics and powerlifting. His remarkable victories at the 2025 Grand Prix Dubai Paralympics, where he won gold medals in both the 100m and 400m races, showcased his exceptional speed, endurance, and determination. These wins not only brought glory to Kenya but also inspired many aspiring athletes living with disabilities to pursue their dreams fearlessly.
In addition to his track successes, Jairus demonstrated immense strength and versatility by excelling in powerlifting. In May 2025, he represented Kenya at the IBSA Powerlifting and Bench Press Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan, where he earned silver and bronze medals. His accomplishments across multiple sports disciplines reflect his resilience, discipline, and passion for excellence.
Beyond competition, Jairus has become a role model and advocate for inclusivity in sports, motivating others to overcome physical challenges and societal barriers.
