Kamoya Kimeu
Dr. Kimeu was being remembered for his contribution in the field of paleontology and heritage management in Kenya and beyond. During his career that spanned from 1963 until his death in 2022, he is credited with such key discoveries as the almost complete hominid skeleton popularly known as Turkana or Nariokotome Boy which he discovered in 1984 near Lake Turkana. His contributions earned him many national and international accolades including LaGorce Medal awarded by the National Geographic and an honorary doctorate of science degree from Case Western Reserve University.
