Kennedy Isaac Kunani
Kennedy Isaac Kunani was honored for his immense contribution to peacebuilding and civic education through the establishment of Amani Peace Clubs in learning institutions across Kenya. Motivated by a deep belief in nurturing a culture of peace among the youth, Kennedy founded these clubs to serve as safe spaces for students to engage in dialogue, critical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving. Through the Amani Peace Clubs, he has organized debate competitions and interactive forums that encourage young people to explore vital national themes such as inclusivity, diversity, good governance, and respect for national values.
These platforms not only promote peaceful coexistence but also help students develop leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills essential for responsible citizenship. Under his guidance, the Peace Clubs movement has expanded to many counties across the country, inspiring thousands of learners to become peace ambassadors within their schools and communities. Kennedy’s initiative has also fostered partnerships between schools, local leaders, and civil society organizations, amplifying the impact of youth-led peacebuilding. His vision and dedication demonstrate how empowering young minds with knowledge, dialogue, and empathy can transform society, laying a strong foundation for sustainable peace, unity, and national cohesion in Kenya.
