Lawrence Muchilwa

Lawrence Muchilwa is a prominent cybersecurity expert and social entrepreneur, recognized for his significant contributions to Africa’s digital security landscape. He co-founded CTFRoom, a cybersecurity training platform that offers Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions to help professionals enhance their practical skills in information security. Under his leadership, CTFRoom has become a leading cyber range platform in Africa, notably hosting a CTF room at DevCon, a premier conference for IT professionals and tech enthusiasts. Muchilwa also serves as the Head of Information Security at Silensec, a cybersecurity firm, and is the founder and host of Truepositives, a podcast focused on technology. His commitment to mentorship is evident through his role as a mentor at adplist.org, where he provides guidance to cybersecurity professionals. Additionally, he co-founded BSides Nairobi, a community-driven event for information security professionals, and was recently nominated as a council member of the Open University of Kenya.
