Lenin Sembo Oyuga
Lenin Sembo Oyuga is a prominent Kenyan-global business leader whose career spans the intersection of technology, telecoms and financial services across Africa and the Middle East. He currently serves as Head of Telco Commercial & Partnerships (MEA region) at Mastercard, where he oversees telco partner engagement and revenue growth in over 30 markets.
Before joining Mastercard, Oyuga held senior roles at Oracle Corporation as Senior Director for the telco industry in the Middle East & Africa, and at Refinitiv (formerly Thomson Reuters Financial & Risk) where he led East Africa & Indian Ocean Islands. His earlier work includes pioneering Internet of Things (IoT) implementations in Africa via a UK-based firm, demonstrating his depth in emerging technologies.
Throughout his career, Oyuga has achieved considerable impact: he led teams managing entire regions of up to 17 countries at age 33, underlining his rapid ascent and operational leadership.He has been recognized in East Africa Business Daily’s Top 40 Under 40 list in both 2017 and 2018.
His influence extends beyond commercial growth. He serves on boards including Cherehani Africa and the East Africa chapter of the 30% Club East Africa, and is active in promoting technology adoption, mentorship of young professionals (via the Young Africa Leadership Initiative – YALI) and the broader digital economy across Africa.
