Lilian Kamanja
Lilian Kamanja is an accomplished Renewable Energy Specialist and Turnkey Project Manager at Kenya Power, with over nine years of expertise in electrical engineering, network operations, and renewable energy development. She holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nairobi and an M.Tech in Renewable Energy from IIT Delhi, underscoring her strong academic foundation in sustainable energy systems.
In her role, Lilian has been pivotal in advancing Kenya Power’s clean energy agenda through her leadership in hybrid energy projects—most notably conducting techno-economic analysis of solar-integrated mini-grids, including the Eldas site retrofit, thereby improving both energy access and cost efficiency in off-grid areas.
Her leadership and technical contributions earned her recognition in the 2024 African Energy Chamber’s “25 Under 40 Energy Women Rising Stars”, celebrating her as one of Africa’s foremost young women reshaping the energy sector.
In 2025, her excellence was further honored when she was named to Kenya Power’s official list of “Top 40 Under 40 Women” by Business Daily Africa, marking her as a standout female leader driving Kenya’s energy transition.
