Malcom Charles Lochodo
Dr. Lochodo is honoured for his outstanding dedication to peace advocacy across the counties of Turkana, West Pokot, and Uasin Gishu, regions that have historically faced tensions arising from ethnic rivalries, cattle rustling, and competition over scarce resources. His tireless efforts in championing dialogue and reconciliation have been most visible through the peace walks he has organized and led. These walks have served as powerful symbols of unity, bringing together people from different communities to demonstrate their shared commitment to coexistence and mutual respect.
By walking alongside local leaders, elders, women, and youth, Dr. Lochodo has created opportunities for communities to reflect on the cost of conflict and the value of peace. His approach has been inclusive, bridging divides and fostering conversations that build trust among groups that were once in conflict. Through these initiatives, he has inspired hope, strengthened cohesion, and helped prevent the escalation of violence in volatile areas.
His remarkable contribution has not gone unnoticed. The Council of Governors has recognized him for his exemplary leadership in peacebuilding and his innovative use of grassroots initiatives to bring communities together. Dr. Lochodo’s work continues to stand as a model for sustainable peace in Kenya.
