Trained at Tygerberg Hospital and Stellenbosch University in South Africa, he has been instrumental in advancing kidney health in the Rift Valley region. Over the past two years, Dr. Koech has been part of a team that successfully performed over 70 kidney transplants, a procedure that previously required patients to seek treatment abroad due to a shortage of trained specialists. In addition to his clinical work, he serves as a consultant nephrologist and lecturer at Moi University and Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. Dr. Koech’s dedication to improving kidney care has significantly enhanced access to life-saving treatments for many Kenyans.
