Micheal Michie

Michael Michie is a Kenyan technologist and cyber-risk strategist who champions inclusive, privacy-first artificial intelligence across Africa. After launching his career as Chief Information Security Officer at M Oriental Bank, where he built the lender’s SOC and zero-trust framework, he moved to TripleOKLaw in 2017, digitising litigation workflows and spearheading one of East Africa’s first legal AI-research tools.

In 2019, at just 27, Michie became the youngest honouree on Business Daily’s Top 40 Under 40 Men list. He went on to serve as CTO for Solv Kenya (a Standard Chartered–backed SME marketplace) and bluBeetle AI, deploying ethical-AI credit engines that now score over 60,000 small businesses monthly without gender or location bias.

Michie is co-founder of Everse Technology Africa, a Nairobi start-up that develops edge-AI models and privacy-enhancing computation for regulated industries; its flagship product, VaultGuard, enables banks to train models on encrypted data, keeping customer information resident in country. The company is piloting with three tier-one Kenyan banks and a pan-African telco.

A published author in AI & Society, he hosts the “Mind and Machine Africa” podcast, sits on the Africa AI Policy Advisory Board, and mentors neuro-divergent coders through the Dyslexic Thinking Foundation. His mission: embed responsible AI and mental-health awareness at the heart of Africa’s digital transformation.
