Mohamed Saidi Mwaenzi
Mohamed Saidi Mwaenzi was recognized for his long-standing dedication to humanitarian service and peacebuilding, which has had a profound impact on communities in Kwale County and beyond. Over the years, he has been a first responder during major crises, providing timely assistance and support to those in need. His humanitarian work includes responding to tragic and challenging events such as the drowning of seven pupils at Diani Beach in February 2018 and coordinating relief efforts during floods in Vanga in April 2017, December 2018, March 2021, and as recently as November 2023.
In addition to emergency response, Mohamed plays a vital role in alleviating the effects of drought, distributing food and essential supplies to affected families in Kinango and Lunga Lunga. Beyond disaster relief, he addresses critical social issues such as gender-based violence and early marriages, advocating for the protection of vulnerable groups, especially women and girls.
Mohamed is also passionate about environmental conservation, leading tree-planting initiatives aimed at combating deforestation and environmental degradation.
