Monicah Mwaniki
Monicah Mwaniki is an influential figure in Kenya’s financial services sector, serving as Co-Founder and CEO of Arvocap Asset Managers. Armed with a Master of Commerce from Strathmore University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nairobi, she further strengthened her profile with a Higher Diploma in IMIS (UK) and CPAK certification. As a member of the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (ICIFA) and CISI Level II qualified, she combines actionable insight with technical expertise in investment and financial analysis.
Monicah’s foundation in sociology, complemented by her CPA qualification, uniquely positioned her to excel in finance—a transition she attributes to her enduring passion for mathematics and her ability to blend human insight with analytical precision. Her extensive 14-year career includes leadership roles in fixed-income at SIB and as Head of Fixed Income at Dyer & Blair, where she closed some of the market’s largest deals, earning recognition at the 2018 Investment Banking Awards.
Today, she leads Arvocap through its pivotal phase of growth. Since receiving its fund manager license in November 2023 and obtaining CMA approval for unit trust schemes in 2024, Arvocap has launched 10 dynamic sub-funds—including Sharia-compliant and money market funds—making strides in expanding investor access in Kenya’s rapidly growing asset management space.
As one of the very few women running an asset management company in Kenya, Monicah is actively redefining the sector—pioneering new pathways in capital markets leadership.
