Mourice Omondi Aloo

Mourice was recognized for his remarkable contribution to the development and promotion of Karate in Kenya and the East African region. As a pioneer and passionate martial artist, he became the first Kenyan Karate instructor to establish the East Africa Gojukai Karate Championship, a platform that has brought together athletes from across the region to compete, learn, and exchange cultural and sporting values. Beyond organizing competitions, Mourice has also been instrumental in conducting referees and judges’ courses, helping to professionalize the sport and uphold international standards of excellence in Karate officiating.

Through his tireless efforts, Mourice has used Karate not only as a sport but also as a transformative tool for personal development and community empowerment. He has mentored hundreds of students, teaching them self-defense, discipline, respect, and perseverance. His programs have also played a key role in raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse, promoting physical fitness, and encouraging positive lifestyle choices among youth.

By blending sportsmanship with social responsibility, Mourice has demonstrated that martial arts can be a powerful avenue for building character, reducing social vices, and nurturing a generation of focused, healthy, and disciplined citizens in Kenya and beyond.
