Njoroge Kibugu
Njoroge Kibugu (born 20th November 2003) is Kenya’s youngest professional golfer and one of Africa’s rising stars on the DP World Tour. He burst onto the scene at just 18 during the 2022 Magical Kenya Open at Muthaiga Golf Club, where his six-under-par 136 made him the first Kenyan teenager ever to reach the weekend and finish as low amateur. The performance earned him presidential sponsorship to compete in the 2023 Soudal Open in Belgium and accelerated his decision to turn professional after a debut at the Zimbabwe Open later that year.
Now attached to Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club, Kibugu has cemented his status with a series of standout results. He topped the NCBA-sponsored qualifiers to claim one of eight Kenyan slots for the 2025 Magical Kenya Open and, in June 2025, captured his first professional victory by winning the opening leg of the Sunshine Development Tour’s East Africa Swing at Thika Greens with a 15-under-par total. Known for a silky short game and fearless course management, he also mentors junior golfers through the Kenya Golf Union’s youth clinics.
While pursuing online business studies to complement his playing career, Kibugu aims to secure full DP World Tour status and inspire a new generation of African golfers to compete at the sport’s highest levels.
