Pauline Sheghu

Pauline Sheghu was honoured for her remarkable contribution to motorsport in Kenya and her trailblazing achievements in a field long dominated by men. With over 15 years of experience, she has become a symbol of resilience, excellence, and empowerment in rally racing, inspiring women across the continent to take up motorsport professionally.

As part of Kenya’s first all-women rally crew, Pauline made history by conquering the World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally, one of the toughest races in the world. Her team’s exceptional performance saw them achieve three consecutive podium finishes in 2023, 2024, and 2025, a feat that elevated Kenya’s presence in international motorsport and earned her widespread recognition both locally and globally.

Beyond her success behind the wheel, Pauline has been a passionate advocate for women’s participation in motorsport, mentoring young female drivers, mechanics, and navigators to break barriers in the sport. Through her dedication, she has helped shift perceptions about women in competitive racing, promoting inclusivity and diversity in the industry.

Her accomplishments continue to inspire the next generation of racers, proving that with courage, skill, and determination, women can excel and lead in any arena — even the fast-paced world of rally racing.
