Peter Achola Oloo
Peter Achola Oloo was honoured for his outstanding contribution to the advancement of sports for Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD) in Kenya. As a passionate advocate and leader in disability sports, Peter has been instrumental in elevating Kenya’s presence in international amputee football. Under his leadership, Team Kenya has participated in several prestigious tournaments and friendly matches across the globe, showcasing the talent, resilience, and determination of athletes with disabilities.
His leadership journey includes guiding the national team to a friendly match in Monrovia, Liberia in 2013, and playing a pivotal role in hosting the African Amputee Football Cup of Nations (AAFCON) in Nairobi. Peter also led the team to the 2014 Amputee Football World Cup in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico, and later in Guadalajara, Mexico, marking Kenya’s growing stature in the sport. He further steered the team through the CECAAF Tournament held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 2019, the 62nd AAFCON in the same city in 2021, and most recently, the AAFCON in Cairo, Egypt in 2024.
Peter’s unwavering dedication to empowering athletes with disabilities has made a lasting impact. His efforts continue to break barriers and inspire inclusivity, setting a strong foundation for the future of adaptive sports in Kenya.
