Poline Wambeti Munyi
Poline Wambeti Munyi was honoured for her outstanding contribution to the development and promotion of women in shooting sports, a field where she has blazed a trail and earned numerous accolades both nationally and internationally. Her impressive sporting achievements include winning a bronze medal in the Women’s Air Rifle event at the 13th All Africa Shooting Championships held in Egypt in 2017. In 2018, she emerged as the 1st runner-up in the Women’s Air Rifle Pistol Match in Bisley, United Kingdom, further cementing her reputation as a top competitor. In 2022, she demonstrated her versatility by winning the novice category of the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) shoot.
Beyond her personal triumphs, Poline has been a driving force in empowering women to take up shooting sports. She is the founder of the Pink Target All Women’s Charity Sports Shooting Club, an initiative dedicated to training, mentoring, and inspiring women to excel in this discipline while also supporting charitable causes. Her leadership extends beyond sports; she currently serves as the third and active Vice President of the International Police Association – Kenya Section. Through her commitment, skill, and mentorship, Poline continues to elevate the profile of women in shooting sports both in Kenya and globally.
