Ratemo Clare Moraa

Clare has been honoured for her tireless dedication to peacebuilding and community transformation, particularly for spearheading peace caravans in Uasin Gishu during the 2007–2008 post-election violence. At a time when the country was engulfed in turmoil, her courage and leadership brought communities together, creating vital spaces for dialogue and reconciliation. Through these peace caravans, Clare promoted messages of unity, forgiveness, and healing, playing a critical role in restoring trust among divided groups.

Her commitment to peace did not end there. Clare continues to champion peace campaigns through sports, recognizing the power of games and athletics to bridge divides, foster teamwork, and create bonds across different ethnic and social groups. By engaging young people in positive activities, she has redirected their energy from destructive behaviors to constructive community-building efforts.

In addition to her peace advocacy, Clare is a passionate anti-FGM crusader. She works with girls, women, and local leaders to raise awareness about the dangers of the practice while advocating for the protection of the rights and dignity of women. Through her multifaceted efforts, Clare has become a beacon of hope and resilience, inspiring communities to choose peace, equality, and mutual respect.
