Richard Khamasi Madegwa

Richard Khamasi Madegwa is widely recognized for his outstanding contribution to football in Kenya, both as a talented player and as a dedicated coach and mentor. A former national team player, he proudly wore the Harambee Stars jersey, representing Kenya with distinction on the international stage. Known for his skill, discipline, and passion for the game, Khamasi left a lasting impression during his playing years and has continued to impact the sport long after his retirement from active competition.

His love for football extended beyond personal achievement. Khamasi dedicated himself to nurturing young talent and promoting inclusivity within the sport. He served as the head coach of the Deaf Futsal team—an initiative focused on empowering persons with hearing impairments through football. His work with the team not only brought visibility to athletes with disabilities but also highlighted the power of sport as a unifying and transformative tool.

Khamasi also played key roles in youth football development, serving as the assistant coach for Kenya’s Under-17 national team, where he mentored aspiring young players. Additionally, he served as team manager for AFC Leopards, one of Kenya’s most storied football clubs. His lifelong commitment to the game continues to inspire generations of footballers across the country.
