Sankane Anthony Sayainka

Sankane Anthony Sayainka is a passionate advocate for the rights and empowerment of marginalized communities, particularly in Kenya’s pastoralist regions. He is widely recognized for his courageous campaigns against harmful cultural practices such as female genital mutilation (FGM) and early child marriages, which have historically hindered the advancement of girls and women in many rural areas. Through grassroots mobilization, community dialogue, and educational outreach, Sayainka has been instrumental in challenging these long-held norms and promoting the rights of girls to education, safety, and dignity.

Beyond activism, Sankane is also deeply committed to economic empowerment. He actively trains youth and women in entrepreneurship, agribusiness, and financial literacy, equipping them with skills to become self-reliant and break the cycle of poverty. His programs focus on creating alternative livelihoods, encouraging saving and investment, and building sustainable income-generating activities.

Through his work, Sankane has emerged as a key voice in advocating for social transformation, gender equality, and economic inclusion within pastoralist and marginalized communities. His leadership is driven by a vision of a more just and equitable society where cultural identity is preserved without compromising human rights.
