Sarah Ngamau is a Kenyan private-equity executive with 15 years’ experience financing African businesses. She leads the US $150 million Moremi Fund at Kuramo Capital Management, a gender-lens vehicle backing women-owned or gender-diverse fund managers across sub-Saharan Africa. Since its first close in November 2023 she has approved five commitments, catalysing US $260 million in follow-on capital and adding two female general partners to the region.
Before spearheading Moremi, Ngamau led East Africa investments for French family-office Creadev International, closing deals in renewable energy, e-commerce and agritech while overseeing a US $120 million portfolio. Earlier she spent seven years at Kuramo Capital’s Nairobi office, rising from associate to Director of Investments, where she executed secondary transactions and co-founded the firm’s ESG integration framework adopted across US $1.5 billion of assets.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Strathmore University and an MBA from INSEAD, is a CFA charterholder, and serves on the boards of SunCulture Kenya and the Africa Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (AVCA). Named Business Daily Top 40 Under 40 Women in 2018 and Private Equity Woman of the Year Africa in 2024, Ngamau mentors female analysts through the Womvest fellowship and champions policies that unlock more seats for women at Africa’s investment table.
