Tedd Moya Mose

Dr. Tedd Moya Mose is a Kenyan-qualified lawyer, Oxford-based energy scholar, and cross-sector adviser shaping the transition to net-zero systems. An advocate of the High Court of Kenya, he earned his PhD in International Energy Law from Queen Mary University of London after studying law at the University of Nairobi. As an Oxford Martin Fellow on the Integrate Project at the University of Oxford, he researches how large-scale renewables, storage, and green-hydrogen technologies can be woven into legacy energy grids while safeguarding energy equity in emerging economies.

Moya brings academic insight to practice. He has advised Kenya’s Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority on feed-in-tariff redesign, guided Gulf sovereign funds on climate-aligned investment frameworks, and helped African start-ups raise blended finance for mini-grids and clean-cooking ventures. His earlier lectureships at the University of St. Andrews and the University of Cape Town produced widely cited work on just-transition law and sustainable-finance taxonomies.

Beyond energy, he co-founded the Conservation Plus Initiative, which pairs carbon markets with community wildlife conservancies, and sits on the board of EdTech Africa, promoting STEM curricula in off-grid schools. Whether briefing COP delegates or mentoring young lawyers through the Law Society of Kenya’s climate-justice clinic, Dr. Moya anchors his work in a single goal: accelerating Africa’s sustainable development through rigorous, inclusive energy governance.
